Round Glass Academy, SGPC Academy, Surjit Academy and SAI Sonepat register wins in Punjab Hockey League

Round Glass Academy, Surjit Academy, SAI Sonepat and SGPC Academy emerged victorious in their respective league matches, on the sixth day of the second round of the Punjab Hockey League 2025. The league is being jointly organised by Hockey Punjab and Round Glass Sports at the Olympian Surjit Hockey Stadium, Jalandhar.

In the opening match of the day, Round Glass Academy defeated SDAT Tamil Nadu with a 5-2 score line. Aman Deep netted two goals for the winners, while Jobanpreet, Gursevak, and Sukhmanpreet Singh contributed one goal each. Tamil Nadu’s goals came from S Krishnan and S Vishal. Anurag from Round Glass Academy was declared the best player of the match.

In the second fixture, SGPC Academy edged past Naval Tata Academy Jamshedpur 5-4 in a closely contested encounter. Sher Shubhjot Singh scored twice, while Sukhdev Singh, Harvinder, and Kamaljit Singh added a goal each for SGPC. For Naval Tata Academy, Ashish Tani Purti struck two goals, while Patras Hasa, Mohit Naik, and Anish Dung Dung scored one each. SGPC’s Karandeep Singh was named the best player of the match.

The third match saw Surjit Hockey Academy convincingly defeat Gumhera Academy 5-1. Rohan Bhushan led the charge with two goals, supported by Abhishek Gorkhi, Manmeet Singh Rai, and Jashanpreet, who scored one goal each. Tushar was the lone scorer for Gumhera. Manjot Singh of Surjit Academy was adjudged the best player of the match.

In the final match of the day, SAI Sonepat outplayed Namdhari Academy 6-2. Nitan starred with a hat-trick, scoring three goals, while Ankush, Pankaj Sharma, and Ankur Roar each netted one. For Namdhari Academy, Gurpreet and Misbah Khan scored one goal apiece. Pankaj Sharma of SAI Sonipat was declared the best player of the match.
