Rs 25K reward for information on use of China dor: DC
Kapurthala Deputy Commissioner Amit Kumar Panchal announced a reward of up to Rs 25,000 to individuals who will provide information on the use, sale or storage of synthetic nylon strings — commonly known as China dor.
DC Panchal highlighted that the manufacturing, sale, purchase, or storage of synthetic, nylon, or coated kite strings is strictly prohibited across Punjab. Violators of the Environment Protection Act, 1986, or its related provisions will face penalties ranging from Rs 10,000 to Rs 15 lakh.
To report incidents, a toll-free helpline has been set up at 1800-180-2810, ensuring complete anonymity for informants. “The name of the person providing information will be kept confidential,” he said. — OC

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now
in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is
run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
The Tribune, the largest selling English daily in North India, publishes news and views without any
bias or prejudice of any kind. Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and
partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense
of the term.
The Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
