In a significant move to enhance road infrastructure in Hoshiarpur district, Deputy Commissioner Aashika Jain has instructed the Punjab Mandi Board to expedite the construction of two crucial road stretches—Fatta Kulla to Tanda Highway and Abdullapur–Ibrahimpur–Miani.
In an official directive to the Executive Engineer of the Mandi Board, the DC emphasised the importance of a robust rural road network for the smooth functioning of agricultural operations and overall economic development. She highlighted that the current condition of the Fatta Kulla–Tanda road is severely dilapidated, creating significant challenges for residents, farmers, and transporters. Once completed, the new road will enhance mobility and ensure the timely transportation of agricultural produce to mandis.
Similarly, the Abdullapur–Ibrahimpur–Miani road is also in poor condition, disrupting daily commutes and goods transportation. The strengthening of this road will alleviate public hardships and provide substantial benefits to the rural economy.
Jain also reminded that during visits to flood-affected areas of Hoshiarpur in August–September 2025, both the Governor and the Chief Minister of Punjab had assured that these projects would be prioritised to improve rural connectivity and ensure safer travel for schoolchildren. The Deputy Commissioner has urged the Punjab Mandi Board to grant immediate approval and commence work without delay, offering timely relief to residents and the farming community.
