A published author, Singh has made significant contributions to Punjabi literature with works like Betarteeb (2022) and Sifar (2025). Both books were released in the UK. His literary journey is deeply rooted in his family background—his father, a songwriter and his paternal uncle, a poet, provided an environment rich with books and words. “Books and words were always around me and naturally, that influence found its way into my life,” Singh recalls. “I also believe that nature selects you for a special purpose—kudrat vi tuhanu chundi hai khas kamm layi,” he adds.
A familiar voice on All India Radio Jalandhar for several years, Singh serves as the presenter for the popular show Des Punjab. His work extends beyond radio, having anchored several programmes for Doordarshan Kendra Jalandhar. Singh’s literary contributions also include articles, book reviews and poems, which have been published in various esteemed literary magazines and newspapers. Furthermore, Singh has translated works of international importance, including Iraqi poetry and Sri Lankan poets, which were featured in publications such as Akkhar and Desh Sewak.
By seamlessly combining his roles in education, literature and broadcasting, Sandeep Singh continues to play a pivotal role in shaping Punjab’s cultural and literary landscape.
