School director among 2 held for voyeurism, conspiracy

The Mehat Pur police have arrested a school director and his relative on the charge of voyeurism and criminal conspiracy.

Shahkot Deputy Superintendent of Police Onkar Singh Brar said that the accused has been identified as Albin Antony, a native of Kerala and Director of St Jude Convent school in Umre Wal Billa village, and his relative Sharo Shiju (19), also a native of Kerala, who is presently living in Guru Gobind Singh Avenue, Jalandhar and staying in Umre Wal school.

The father of the victim complained to the police that the accused recorded a video of his daughter inappropriately.

The DSP said that a case under Sections 77 and 61(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Sections 13,14 and15 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2019, has been registered against the accused. Further investigation is on.

Phagwara: Nakodar city police have arrested a proclaimed offender (PO) absconding for the last few weeks. Investigating Officer Dilbag Singh said that the accused has been identified as Amanpreet Singh, a resident of Takhtu Pura village under Nihal Singh Wala police station in Moga. The accused was wanted in a case of dowry harassment.
