SDM launches programme to maintain digital land records
In a significant move towards digitisation, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Jashanjit Singh held a meeting with patwaris and kanungos to streamline the operations of the land revenue department. The SDM launched the “Digital Crop Survey Programme” aimed at maintaining digital land records more efficiently during the meeting.
SDM Jashanjit Singh emphasised that the programme is designed to facilitate online revenue record-keeping and enhance transparency in land-related processes. Training for the initiative was conducted by Satinderpal Singh, Assistant System Manager (ASM) of the Fard Centre.
As part of the programme, patwaris will conduct online girdawari (crop inspection), wherein they will upload photographs of every crop and khasra (land parcel) number. This initiative is expected to modernise traditional record-keeping methods and improve accessibility to land data.
Additionally, SDM Jashanjit Singh instructed officials to expedite pending land mutations and jamabandis (land records) to ensure efficient service delivery.
