With a week left for Independence Day, the Commissionerate Police Jalandhar has stepped up security arrangements across the city. Intensive checking, patrolling, and surveillance are being carried out to ensure safety measures.

A special search operation was carried out today at the Jalandhar bus stand and railway stations to strengthen security protocols. The operation was conducted under the directions of Dhanpreet Kaur, Commissioner of Police, Jalandhar, and was led by Roopdeep Kaur, ACP Model Town, and Amarnath, ACP North.

A team of 110 police personnel was deployed with the support of the anti-sabotage team. During the operation, suspected individuals were checked, passengers’ luggage was carefully inspected, and the identification of travellers was verified on the spot. The PIAS app was used to check the criminal records of the suspects, while CCTV cameras installed at the railway stations and bus stand were inspected to ensure their proper functioning for continuous monitoring.

The police have appealed to all citizens to remain vigilant, cooperate with the police, and promptly report any suspicious activities by calling the helpline number 112.
