Phagwara experienced the season’s first fog on Saturday morning, signalling a notable change in weather conditions. The early morning fog caused the temperature to drop to 21°C at 6.00 am, down 4 degrees from 25°C recorded at the same time the previous day, providing relief from heat.

The fog significantly reduced visibility, prompting commuters—including school and college students and business owners—to use vehicle headlights even during daylight. The increased atmospheric moisture is expected to impact paddy harvesting, raising concerns among local farmers.

On Thursday, the maximum temperature reached 34°C, but with the cooler morning, residents were seen shifting from half-sleeved to full-sleeved clothing, reflecting the seasonal transition. The local meteorological department forecasts further temperature fluctuations in the coming days.

Night temperatures are expected to hover around 21°C, while daytime warmth may persist. The region is likely to experience partly clear skies during the day, with chances of cloud cover and occasional thunder at night.
