Rajya Sabha MP Balbir Singh Seechewal had a meeting with Abhishek Sharma, Regional Passport Officer, Jalandhar, to discuss issues related to passport services for people of Doaba region on Monday.
He raised concerns about the difficulties faced by residents of the region in obtaining passport services, particularly regarding the prompt issuance of Police Clearance Certificates (PCCs). During the meeting at the Regional Passport Office, Seechewal emphasised that many people from Doaba region reside abroad and rely on the Passport Office for various services. Therefore, speedy disbursal of these services can provide relief to public.
He also hailed the efforts of the officials at the Passport Office in reducing appointment delay in services. He also urged the officials to play a more active role in bringing back youth, especially girls, who had been trapped abroad by fraudulent agents.
