District and Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Nawanshahr, held a seminar at Government Senior Secondary School, Rattewal village, today. It was held on the directions of Priya Sood, CJM-cum-Secretary, District Legal Services Authority.

In the seminar, para legal volunteers Vijay Rana and Paramjit Kaur addressed the schoolchildren and gave information about POCSO Act. They said that if someone harasses the children,a molests them, make them watch an obscene video, it was wrong and must be reported. “Children can get help by telling their parents and teachers or by calling the children helpline number 1098 when something is mentally disturbing them or any kind of unpleasant incident happens,” he said.

Rana also said that in order to avoid incidents of abuse and molestation of children, the latter must inform their parents or teachers about it and get information about the Juvenile Justice Act and the POCSO Act.
