Seminar on modern eye surgery, health awareness

The monthly seminar of the National Integrated Medical Association (NIMA), Jalandhar chapter, was held here today. It was held under the chairmanship of Dr SP Dalia and renowned eye specialists Dr Rohan Bowry and Dr Saurabh Sood addressed the gathering.

The event began with a prayer, followed by a welcome address by Secretary Dr Rajiv Dhawan. Members recognised the sports team and mentors for their successful organisation of a recent sports meet in the city. The newly elected office-bearers, including president Dr Parvinder Bajaj, general secretary Dr Anil Nagrath and cashier Dr Vipul Kakkar, were honoured.

Dr Bowry informed members about the latest advancements in refractive eye surgeries, including PRK with Excimer, LASIK with MEL 80 and Small Femto and Smile procedures, highlighting their efficiency and painless nature. He also detailed the effects of diabetes, stress and medications on eye health.

Dr Sahil Kalia delivered a comprehensive presentation on diabetes, its complications and management strategies. The main speakers were presented with mementos.
