In observance of Vigilance Awareness Week, being celebrated from October 27 to November 2 under the directions of the Chief Director, Vigilance Bureau, Punjab and as per the guidance of Shri Harpreet Singh, PPS, SSP Vigilance Bureau, Range Jalandhar, a special seminar on anti-corruption awareness was organised today at IK Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKGPTU), Kapurthala.
The event aimed to sensitise the public and students about the importance of eradicating corruption and promoting transparency in governance.
Senior officials including SSP Kapurthala Shri Gaurav Toora, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Navneet Kaur Bal, SSP Vigilance Bureau Jalandhar Harpreet Singh, DSP (Sub-Division Kapurthala) Sheetal Singh, DSP (Vigilance Bureau Unit Kapurthala) Joginder Pal, DSP (PBI Kapurthala) Harpreet Singh, PPS, District Attorney Vishal Anand, and Assistant District Attorney Manoj Kumar addressed the gathering.
Speakers urged students to play an active role in combating corruption and to act as responsible citizens by reporting unethical practices. They emphasised that the fight against corruption requires collective effort, awareness and a strong moral commitment from all sections of society.
Participants were also informed about various public resources for reporting corruption, including the Vigilance Bureau’s official website — www.vigilancebureau.punjab.gov.in, toll-free helpline 1800-1800-1000, Anti-Corruption Action Line 95012-00200 and the contact numbers of SSP Vigilance Bureau Range Jalandhar (0181-2226349) and DSP Vigilance Bureau Unit Kapurthala (98765-01927).
