On the fifth day of the second round of the Punjab Hockey League, jointly organised by Hockey Punjab and Round Glass Sports, SGPC Academy, Naval Tata Academy, Round Glass Academy and SAI Sonipat registered victories.
In the opening match at Olympian Surjit Singh Hockey Stadium, SGPC Academy Amritsar triumphed 3-2 over SDAT Tamil Nadu. Diljit, Harmanpreet and Sukhveer were the goal scorers for SGPC, while S Krishnan and K Gautham found the net for Tamil Nadu. Harmanpreet Singh of SGPC was named the best player of the match.
Round Glass Academy then defeated Surjit Hockey Academy 3-2 in a closely contested match. Captain Gursewak Singh netted a hat-trick for Round Glass, while Abhishek Gorkhi and Harmolbir Singh scored for Surjit Academy. German Singh of Round Glass was declared the best player of the match.
Naval Tata Academy Jamshedpur secured a 4-3 win over Namdhari Academy in the third match. Despite trailing 3-2, Naval Tata mounted a strong comeback in the final five minutes. Ashish Tani Purti scored twice for Naval Tata, while Patras Hasa and Tintus Hamrom added a goal each. Yuvraj Singh scored a hat-trick for Namdhari Academy. Prem Chand Soy of Naval Tata was named the best player of the match.
In the final match of the day, SAI Sonipat delivered a commanding 9-1 victory over Gumhera Academy. Sunil, Srijan Yadav, Neeraj, and Ankush each scored twice for SAI Sonipat, with Nitan adding another goal. Srijan Yadav was named the best player of the match.
