Despite victims reporting the incidents promptly, no First Information Reports (FIRs) have been registered, raising concerns over police inaction.
In the first case, Munish, a driver and resident of Prempura locality, was returning home on his motorcycle after work. While slowing down to attend a phone call, an unidentified youth on a motorcycle approached from behind, snatched his phone and sped away before Munish could react. He reported the incident to the Phagwara city police, but no case was registered or action initiated.
In a separate incident, a Splendor motorcycle belonging to Pankaj Gupta, a sanitary store owner in Baba Gadhia locality, was stolen from outside his shop. Gupta had parked the motorcycle in front of his store and discovered it missing when he stepped out later. Despite reporting the theft to the police, no FIR was filed and no attempts were made to trace the culprits.
