Special TB screening camp held for factory workers in Metiana

Activities are being conducted under the 100-day TB Mukt Abhiyan in block Harta Badla as part of the National TB Eradication Campaign. Under the drive, a special TB screening camp was organised today for workers in GNA factory located in Metiana. The campaign is being conducted under the leadership of Senior Medical Officer Dr Manpreet Singh Bains.Community Health Officer (CHO) Varinder Kaur and Senior Treatment Supervisor (STS) Bhupinder Kaur said that TB is no longer incurable and its treatment is done free of cost in government hospitals. Along with treatment, financial assistance is also provided to the patient every month by the government. He said that under the campaign, tests and X-ray of suspected patients are being done free of cost by the Health Department.

The TB Mukt Abhiyan will continue till March 24, 2025.
