Speed up work on Sultanpur Lodhi Smart City projects: DC to officials

Kapurthala Deputy Commissioner (DC) Amit Kumar Panchal has directed officials to speed up the ongoing Smart City projects in Sultanpur Lodhi. He instructed officials that the work must be done on a war footing without any unnecessary delays.

While reviewing the work progress at the city-level technical committee (CLTC) meeting in the District Administrative Complex, Panchal ordered officials from departments, including, Public Works Department (PWD), Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA), Municipal Council, Irrigation and the Sewerage Board, to submit weekly progress reports of the projects.

He made it clear that delay in development works would not be tolerated. Officials informed him that after the completion of a 4 MLD (million litres per day) sewage treatment plant, work on another 1 MLD plant would begin within a month.

Officials said, “The construction of a government girls’ school has also been completed.” Regarding the installation of solar panels at the sewage treatment plant and the bus stand, officials assured the DC that the work would be completed by the end of August. The DC also stressed on the need to complete the construction of internal city roads quickly.
