Sports Day celebration was held at Apeejay School, Model Town Jalandhar. From track and field events like sprints and relays to traditional games like tug-of-war, every student had a chance to shine. The highlight was the final relay, where students from different grades collaborated to showcase their unity and determination. The medal ceremony brought the day to a triumphant close, with winners proudly displaying their achievements. Principal Malkiat Singh appreciated the efforts of the students and presented them merit certificates and medals.
College fete 2024
The 49th College Fete 2024 was organised at PCM SD College for Women under the leadership of Principal Prof Dr Pooja Prashar, Gurjot Kaur, Senior Executive from a Punjabi daily, was the chief guest of the day. She held that women should be empowered and confident and live a life vested in dignity and moral values and teachers ought to serve as role models for their students. She declared the fete open and then took a round of delicious food stalls, fun games and grooming station. Students of Department of Fashion Designing and Cosmetology laid up their own stalls of handmade and jewellery items under ‘Earn While You Learn’ scheme. The main attraction of the evening session was the raffle draw. Dr Pooja Prashar congratulated the winners.
CEO talk held
The Training and Placement Committee of School of Management and Institution Innovation Council at Lyallpur Khalsa College Technical Campus organised a CEO talk on ‘Passion, purpose and growth- How to settle in career and achieve goals. The resource person for the same was Shalya Gupta, CEO, PHF Leasing, accompanied by Dr Wishey Kataria, MIS manager, PHF Leasing. He discussed the importance of what, how and why of life goals with the audience. Then he motivated the students to do their goal setting. He said the goals should be SMART (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant and Time Bound). The event was coordinated by Dr Tarunjit Singh and Nitika Sehgal. Dr Inderpal Singh (Dean Management Studies) presented a vote of thanks.
Hindi Story Telling competition
A Hindi story telling competition for the junior and senior kindergarten students of Giggles Wing was organised at Guru Amar Dass Public School . The stories were narrated on various topics. Prabhchet Singh of Junior KG bagged the first prize and Divnoor Kaur of Junior KG won the second prize in the competition. Japnoor Kaur of Senior KG won the first prize Reet Kumari of Senior KG won the second prize. Vice Principal Dr Sonika Singh distributed certificates to the winners and appreciated the efforts of the students and the staff. President Mohinderjit Singh, Principal Dr.Aparana Mehta and committee members congratulated the winners and motivated them to participate in such activities .
HAVAN CEREMONY
A havan ceremony was organised in Seth Hukam Chand SD Public Sr. Sec. School to invoke the blessings and positive energies for the students appearing for the upcoming board exams. Parveen Dada, manager of the school, also joined the ceremony and offered ahutis in the holy fire.The campus resonated with the chanting of mantras. Principal Priyanka Sharma gave their benediction to the students for their success.
Merit positions
Student of St Soldier Institute of Pharmacy and Polytechnic College Lovepreet (4th semester) got meritorious position in PSBTE Exams. She scored 80 per centmarks and made proud group and parents proud on her achievement. College principal Harjit Singh said that she is very dedicated and hardworking student. She was intelligent and active in college activities. Group Chairman Anil Chopra and Vice Chairperson Sangeeta Chopra awarded her and motivated her for keep working hard.
Learnometer Test
Eklavya School conducted Learnometer test. It was conducted by Singapore headquartered XSEED Education. It is a 90-minute CBT computer-based test of skills in English, mathematics and science. Beyond the subjects scores, it measures three core skills areas : conceptual understanding, problem solving and communication. The test was conducted for grade 1-4 students. The learnometer is one the largest and most comprehensive skill based tests for school age children in India. The XSEED curriculum has given students a lot of scope for crystallising their communication skills. Director Seema Handa said, “Learnometer is not just a random test, it tests the concepts that child has understood.”
World Cancer Day
Eklavya school organised a World Cancer Day. A speech was conducted by educator Bharti Kalia to aware the students about cancer gene. She also introduced cause and preventive measures for this disease. Movie on cancer was shown to students so that they can understand the different type of cancer present in the world. Students enjoyed the movie. They also learn how they can give power to the people fight against with this disease. Poster-making competition was conducted by students of classes VIII and IX on the topic world cancer day. All the students showed their creativity in their posters. Principal Komal Arora encouraged the students about the awareness of cancer and also appreciate that such kind of activity help the student to be more active, alert and responsible to know the deep cause of this disease.
