Sri Aurbindo College student Akshit Garg scores 99.58 percentileCity students fare well in CAT, set eyes on IIMs

The city students have fared well in the Common Admission Test (CAT), the result of which was declared today by the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Kozhikode.

The test was conducted on November 24, 2019. This year, as many as 2,44,169 candidates appeared for the test from across the country, of which only 21 candidates have scored an overall score of 99.99 percentile. A number of 19 students of those 21 are from technology/engineering background. The IIMs will now release the short list of the selected candidates. There are many non-IIM institutes as well which will give admissions to cleared candidates based on their CAT score.

Akshit Garg, student at Sri Aurbindo College, has scored 99.58 percentile. This was Akshit’s second attempt. Akshit always wanted to pursue MBA and make a mark in the corporate sector. “I used to study for at least 5 to 6 hours on weekdays and 7 hours at weekends. I also focused on mock tests,” said Akshit, who aspires to take admission to IIM Calcutta.

Ishan Singal, city student at Delhi University, achieved a score of 99.13 percentile. For Ishan too, this was a second attempt. Throughout this preparation years, his focus was on consistency. “I have always been consistent in my studies and it continues to be my key to success. I want to pursue MBA in marketing at my dream institute IIM Lucknow,” he said.

Shivam Singla, also from Sri Aurbindo College, scored 99.10 percentile in his second attempt. “Mock tests were what I focused on during my preparation time. I took nearly 30 mock tests. My dream institute is IIM Lucknow or Indore,” said Shivam.

Apart from Akshit, Shivam and Ishan, city students Vaibhav Singla scored 98.55 percentile, Angad Loomba secured 98.48 percentile, Nancy Mittal got 97.16 percentile, Charvi Maingi 96.25 percentile, Kirat Chhabra 95.83 percentile, Stuti Sharma scored 95.3 percentile, Ashna Jain scored 94.13 percentile and Yeksha Prabhakar 94.05 percentile.
