Only nine patwaris are working in total 28 circles in Phagwara Sub-Division creating a lot of inconvenience for people for the last few months.

Meanwhile, though the state government transferred 21 IAS and 47 PCS officers in Punjab on Thursday, Phagwara failed to get a new Sub Divisional Magistrate(SDM) while the post has been lying vacant since third week of May after the transfer of the then SDM Kulpreet Singh.

The additional charge of Phagwara was given to the Kapurthala SDM but official work is getting affected.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
