State govt’s mismanagement draining treasury: Grewal
Senior BJP leader Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal criticised the Punjab government’s financial management, claiming that it has severely depleted the state’s treasury.
Talking to journalists here today, Grewal accused CM Bhagwant Mann of misusing state resources, particularly in deploying Punjab’s chartered planes for Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo Arvind Kejriwal’s election campaigns in other states. He said these actions had significantly contributed to Punjab’s financial troubles.
Grewal said the state government’s recent request to the Central Government to increase its borrowing capacity reflected the state’s deepening financial crisis and had tarnished Punjab’s reputation. He said, “It is unfortunate that the AAP government in Punjab was squandering public funds to please its central leadership, instead of focusing on the state’s welfare.”
The BJP leader further alleged that the government was investing heavily in false media publicity rather than working on real development projects. He criticised AAP for failing to deliver on its pre-election promises of eliminating the state’s debt and transforming the state into a revenue-generating one.
