Students interact with RJs

Jalandhar: Innocent Hearts Group of Institutions, Loharan, vibrated with the sounds of entertainment as radio jockeys Pearl and Shikshit from Akashvani, Jalandhar, set the stage for the students to showcase their talent. Taranpreet Kaur, a microbiology student, introduced the representatives of Akashvani, Jalandhar, and also the show named, ‘Campus Campus’. The students sang songs and recited poems. They also made the students play interesting games. The whole show turned out to be a great platform. The students were excited as they were told that their performances would be on radio in the coming days.

Session on innovation

Entrepreneurship and innovation come through right mindset and skills. To enhance the interest of the students in the same, a session ‘Entrepreneurship through innovation’ was organised at Police DAV Public School. It was an initiative taken by the Innovation Council of the school. The resource persons for the session were Ashish Arora, Head of the Department of Management, GNDU College, Jalandhar, and Dr Jagmohan Mago, Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science, Apeejay College. Ashish Arora shared how every innovation begins with a problem and the endeavours to find solutions to the problem. He shared that the idea has to be user and market-friendly to make it viable. Dr Ashish Arora acquainted the students with the role and impact of artificial intelligence (AI) in our lives. Principal Dr Rashmi Vij expressed her gratitude towards the resource persons and presented a token of appreciation to them. The session was organised by the Innovation Council of the school under the guidance of Cinny Malhotra.

Parent-teacher meeting

DAV Collegiate Senior Secondary School organised a parent-teacher meeting for the students of 10+1 and 10+2 (all streams) under the guidance of Principal Dr Rajesh Kumar. The parents were intimated through the students’ official group in advance by Dr Seema Sharma, professor in-charge, Collegiate School. The event witnessed around 70 per cent attendance, thus displaying enthusiastic interest among parents for the smooth working and progress of the school. The meeting was held to discuss the performance of students in the pre-Board exam. The PTM came to an end with the conclusion that the progress and development of the students depend on the joint efforts of parents and teachers.

Show-&-Tell competition

A ‘Show-and-Tell’ competition for the Nursery students of Giggles wing was organised at Guru Amar Dass Public School. Manan bagged the first prize and Manpreet Kaur won the second prize in the competition. Vice-principal Dr Sonika Singh distributed certificates to the winners and appreciated the efforts of the students and the staff. President Mohinderjit Singh, Principal Dr Aparana Mehta and committee members congratulated the winners and motivated them to participate in such activities.

Hindi Olympiad

Students of Seth Hukam Chand SD Public Senior Secondary School participated in International Hindi Olympiad conducted by Hindi Vikas Manch. The students showcased their brilliance in the Olympiad. Principal Priyanka Sharma presented gold, silver and bronze medals and certificates to the students. She lauded the achievements of the students and wished them all the best for their future endeavours.

Annual prize distribution ceremony

The annual prize distribution ceremony was organised at St Soldier Divine Public School, Bhogpur, under the leadership of Director Amrik Singh Minhas and Principal Chandra Jyoti. The chief guest at the function was Dr Harkirat Singh. The programme started with Shabad singing. The students of Class I, V, VI, VIII, IX and XI who stood first, second and third respectively, were awarded. The prize winners included Tejalpreet Kaur of Class II, Prabhnoor Kaur, Bhavneet Kaur, Baldeep Singh, Harsimrat Virdi and Tanveer Kaur of Class IV and Ekpreet Singh of Class IV, Tanveer Singh of Class VI, Gurleen Kaur of Class VII, Harman Kaur of Class VIII and Gurkiran Kaur, Navdeep Kaur, Jasleen Kaur, Kirleen Kaur, Punit Kaur of Class IX. St Soldier Group Chairman Anil Chopra and vice-chairperson Sangeeta Chopra congratulated the students.

Placement fair

The placement cell of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya inaugurated a two-week placement fair starting under the guidance of Principal Prof Ajay Sareen. On the first day, a virtual pre-placement talk of Concentrix was organised. The resource person was Vishal Kumar. He told the students about the importance of employment and profile of his company. He spoke about the qualities to be possessed by candidates for getting a job in Concentrix. Principal Prof Sareen said it was a great initiative. Placement Officer Jagjeet Bhatia said that more than 18 companies would be visiting their campus with more than 300 job openings.
