Sukhbir Badal appoints 3 youth wing presidents during Phagwara visit

Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) president Sukhbir Singh Badal announced the appointment of three youth wing presidents, including one from the BC Wing, during his visit to Phagwara on Friday. The move is part of the party’s efforts to strengthen its organisational structure and boost youth participation ahead of the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections.

According to the announcement, Rohit Pal has been appointed youth wing president of the BC Wing Phagwara, Sukhdeep Singh Walia will serve as youth wing president for Zone 2 (Sukhchain Nagar Circle) and Ravneet Singh Bhammra has been appointed youth wing president for Zone 4 (Satnampura Circle).

On his arrival in Phagwara, Sukhbir Singh Badal was warmly welcomed by senior Akali leaders, including S Ranjit Singh Khurana, Urban Constituency Incharge and S Rajinder Singh Chandi, Rural Constituency In charge, at the residence of former Markfed Punjab Chairman S Jarnail Singh Wahad. Senior leaders presented Badal with a bouquet and expressed their support for the party’s youth outreach initiatives.

Addressing the gathering, Badal emphasised that youth will play a decisive role in ensuring a strong comeback for the Shiromani Akali Dal in the upcoming 2027 Punjab Assembly elections. He highlighted that the party’s ideology, rooted in the protection of Panthic and Punjabi rights, continues to inspire younger generations to actively participate in state politics.

Welcoming the appointments, constituency in charges Ranjit Singh Khurana and Rajinder Singh Chandi urged the newly appointed youth presidents to engage more young people with the party and spread awareness about the Akali Dal’s vision and values. They assured the youth leaders of their full guidance and support in all organisational matters.

On the political situation in Punjab, Ranjit Singh Khurana expressed confidence that the next state government would be formed by the Shiromani Akali Dal. He criticised the current Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, alleging it had failed to fulfill its promises and acted under the influence of AAP’s Delhi leadership, including Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia. Khurana stated, “The people of Punjab have now realised that the AAP government has prioritised propaganda over performance.”

Prominent leaders present at the event included Harvinder Singh Walia, Bibi Sarbjit Kaur, Baljeet Singh Walia, Avtar Singh Bhungarni, Gurdeep Singh Khera, Saroop Singh Khalwara, Bahadur Singh Sangatpur, Pritpal Singh Manga, Sukhwinder Singh Kamboj, Satvinder Singh Ghumman, Dharminder Tony, Sukhbir Singh Kinnra, Gurmeet Singh Badwal, Kulwinder Singh Kinda, Nirmal Singh, Sarbjit Singh Mander, Jhirman Singh Bhinder, Harjot Singh Pahwa, Gurmukh Singh Arora, Gurbakhsh Singh, Parminder Singh Janddu, Gurmukh Singh Chana, Singara Singh, Jaswinder Singh Bhagatpura, Gurjeet Singh Virdi, Binder Singh and Gursimer Singh.
