A felicitation ceremony was organised under the joint auspices of the Swachhta Abhiyan Society Phagwara (Regd), United Accountants Association Phagwara (Regd) and Shivala Damodardas Temple Committee at the Shivala Damodardas Temple premises, Cinema Road, Phagwara.

The event recognised students from various schools in Phagwara who achieved over 90% marks in the Class 12 Commerce stream, presenting them with the “Academic Excellence Award.” Dr Raj Kumar Chabbewal, Member of Parliament, attended the event as the chief guest, joined by Phagwara Mayor Mr. Rampal Uppal and Padma Dev Sudhir Nikka as special guests. Mr. Mahendra Pal Sethi and Madam Tripta Sethi were present as Guests of Honour. Director of Pyramid College, Dr Vivek Mittal, and Mr. Atinderpaljeet Singh also contributed to the event’s organisation.

The program commenced with a ribbon-cutting ceremony followed by a floral welcome for the guests. The spiritually themed event featured a devotional dance performance by Bhavni Dhingra. Sister BK Neha Oberoi from the Brahma Kumaris Institute shared valuable life skills insights, motivating the students for their future endeavors. Young Jaivish impressed the audience with his dhol performance, while his mother moved the crowd with her emotional devotional singing.

Meritorious students from renowned educational institutions in Phagwara — including Swami Sant Dass Public School, Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Shri Mahavir Jain Model Senior Secondary School, School of Eminence, Kamla Nehru College, Saffron Public School, SD Putri Pathshala Senior Secondary School, S.D. Model Senior Secondary School, and Arya Model Senior Secondary School — were honoured with shields, saplings, and certificates of appreciation.

The event was expertly hosted by Madam Anmoldeep Kaur. The primary objective of the program was to highlight the students’ achievements and encourage further academic excellence. All guests extended their best wishes to the students, describing such events as positive initiatives in the field of education.

Ashish Gandhi remarked that these events not only honour students but also raise awareness about cleanliness, aiming to shape them into responsible citizens prepared for a bright future. Chairman Madan Mohan Khattar expressed gratitude to all guests and extended his best wishes to the meritorious students.
