In an initiative to support frontline workers during the extreme summer heat, former Punjab Cabinet Minister Sundar Sham Arora distributed high-quality thermos bottles to hardworking auto and e-rickshaw drivers on Rai Bahadur Jodhmal Road today.
The thermos bottles are intended to help drivers keep their drinking water cold and pure throughout the day, providing relief from the harsh conditions. “Earlier, drivers used to carry water in regular plastic bottles, which not only harm the environment but also cause the water to heat up quickly,” said Arora. “Now, these thermos bottles will alleviate that inconvenience and help protect their health during the summer.”
Describing water as the “nectar of life,” Arora emphasised the cultural and traditional importance of water and service in Punjabi society. “In our culture, especially in Punjabi tradition, water and service hold special significance. Great men like Bhai Ghanaiya Ji considered service to humanity as supreme. This small step today is inspired by the same ideology,” he added.
