Jalandhar: Thieves steal computer, LCD from govt school after breaking office wall
Jalandhar, March 6
Thieves struck at a government primary school on Tuesday and decamped with a computer and other gadget. Employees at school discovered the theft on Wednesday morning.
School head teacher Reena has submitted a written complaint at the Kartarpur police station in this connection. The theft took place at the Government Primary School, Fazilpur, between 6 pm and 6.30 pm on Tuesday evening.
The stolen items include a computer and an LCD. As per reports, the LCD was bought by the head teacher from her own pocket and kept at the school office.
In the complaint, the head teacher stated that everyone left the school as per routine after locking the premises on Tuesday. When staff arrived for duty on Wednesday morning at school, they were in for a shock on discovering the theft. Thieves had decamped with a computer and an LCD (TV) after making a hole in a wall of the school office.
ASI Paramjit Singh and his team from the Kartarpur police station inspected the spot. The police are scanning footage of the CCTV cameras installed on the school premises. One of the thieves donning a blue jacket has been captured in the footage of the CCTV cameras.
School employees said the thieves could not break open locks and shutters on the premises. But they managed to drill a hole in the school office wall and steal the equipment. The CCTV camera footage also shows a thief trying to open doors and windows of a nearby middle school. The police have registered an FIR and initiated a probe into the matter.
