The recently declared Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) results have brought a moment of pride for the School of Eminence, Bhargo Camp, Jalandhar, as 13 students from the institution scored above 90 percent in Class XII - a first in the school’s history.

Earlier known as Government Senior Secondary School Bhargo Camp (Boys), the institution was converted into a School of Eminence around two years ago. The transformation has brought noticeable academic progress, as reflected in this year's results.

The students who crossed the 90 percent mark include Karan Chandera Bansi (95%), Himanshu (94%), Mahi Kumari (93.6%), Priyanka Tiwari (93.4%), Shadhya Kumari (92.8%), Rajeev Singh (92.6%), Roopak Kumar (92%), Vandana Kumari (91.4%), Nitish Sharma (91.2%), Muskaan (90.6%), Japleen Kaur (90.4%), Mohammad Faiz (90%) and Priya (90.8%).

While Priya scored 90.8 percent in the commerce stream, the remaining 12 students excelled in the science stream. What makes their achievement particularly inspiring is the adversity many of them faced in their personal lives - including financial hardship and difficult home environments.

Karan Chandera Bansi, the top scorer with 95 percent and son of a labourer, aspires to become a doctor. However, uncertainty looms over his future studies due to personal circumstances. "I will see what will happen. I will either reappear for NEET next year or take admission in some college next month. Right now, nothing is clear," he told The Tribune.

Priyanka Tiwari, daughter of a plumber, not only managed her studies but also gave tuition to around 20 students from Classes 8 to 10. "I wanted to gain knowledge by teaching other students. I earned a little as well, but my main focus was to enhance my own skills," she shared. Despite their modest means, Priyanka added that her parents never made her feel the weight of their struggles.

Her father, Anil Kumar, said: "Zindagi mein kitni bhi mushkil aayi, kabhi bachon takk nahi jaane di. I just want them to study hard and become something in their lives."

Priyanka has now begun preparing for competitive exams, aiming for a government job. The school's Principal, Dinesh Kumar, expressed pride in the students' accomplishments and acknowledged the improvement the school has witnessed since becoming a School of Eminence. "It is for the first time that a good number of students have achieved more than 90 percent. Also, out of 138 students, 115 got first division. I am proud of their achievements," he said.
