Eid-ul-Azha was celebrated with joy and devotion under the presidentship of Naeem Khan at Idgah on Gulab Devi Hospital Road in which thousands of people offered namaz
The namaz was offered by the Imam of the mosque Qari Abdul Subhan. He spoke about the importance of sacrifice as he prayed for peace, progress and mutual brotherhood of India.
Naeem Khan said Eid-ul-Azha is the festival of sacrifice and renunciation. Addressing the media, he said, "The absence of any representative from the government at the Centre of Muslim Punjab Idgah for extending greetings to the Muslim community shows that the Aam Aadmi Party is using Muslims only for vote bank."
He said about two years ago, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, while addressing the people on the occasion of Eid, had said he would get the development of the Idgah done before the next Eid, which the previous governments also did not do. But today even after four Eids have passed, neither any representative from the government came to the Idgah, nor the development work was done by the government. In the upcoming 2027 elections, Naeem Khan warned that he will show the AAP that their government cannot be formed without the votes of the Muslim community."
Meanwhile, Congress leaders, including MP Charanjit S Channi, former MLA Rajinder Beri, BJP leader Ashok Sareen and others, attended prayers at various mosques. Channi even shared the importance of the day. He shared that he had been learning Urdu and Parsi and had started reading various scriptures for his internal bliss.
