The Nakodar Sadar police have booked three individuals for assaulting a political activist. Investigating Officer (IO) Janak Raj confirmed that the accused are Harsahib Singh from Jandiala village and Happy from Sahem village.

Saabi Dhaliwal, a political activist from Maherru village under Mehatpur police station, reported to the police that on June 12, while attending a religious meeting at Nurpur Chatha village, he was waylaid by the accused in Nihang attire as he left the meeting at 7 PM.

The attackers severely injured him with sharp weapons and issued threats. A case under sections 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt), 126(2) (wrongful restraint), 351(2) (criminal intimidation), and 3(5) (common intention) of the BNS has been registered against the accused and their unidentified accomplice.
