The police have arrested three men and seized 900 gram of heroin at a naka operation near the Beas bridge. The suspects were taken into custody under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
According to SSP Gaurav Toora, a police team was conducting checks at the Beas bridge when they spotted a car approaching from the Amritsar side. The vehicle, carrying three persons, was signalled to stop. Upon halting, the occupants were asked to step out, and a search of the car led to the recovery of nearly 900 gram of heroin.
The accused were identified as Dharu, a resident of Himachal Pradesh, Major Singh of Ferozepur and Sameer from Chandigarh. The suspects are being interrogated to determine the source of the narcotics and the intended recipients.
