Hoshiarpur: The officials of the Model Town police station have booked three accused, including a woman on the charge of allegedly cheating a person of Rs 12 lakh on the pretext of sending him abroad. According to the information received, Kanwaljit Singh, a resident of Marnaiyan village , told the police that travel agents Ravinder Kumar; Surinder Kaur, alias Sandeep Kaur; and Vijay Kumar, all residents of Beas district in Jalandhar had allegedly cheated him of Rs 12 lakh in the name of sending his brother Rupinder Singh to Italy. After registering the case, the police launched a probe.

Hoshiarpur: Police arrested three accused from different places and recovered a large number of intoxicating pills from them. According to the information, the officials of Chabbewal police station arrested Geeta, a resident Purana Jattpur, during a raid in the area and recovered a large number of pills from her. Cops of the Model Town police station arrested Sanju Goyal of Sundar Nagar and Arjan, alias Manna, a resident of Pipalwala and recovered a large number of intoxicating pills from him.
