Three held for Hoshiarpur man’s murder
The victim was found dead under suspicious circumstances on September 10
The Kapurthala police have arrested three suspects in connection with the murder of Hussain, a native of Kala Manj village, near Mukerian in Hoshiarpur district. The victim, who was residing at Chitti village near a gas agency under the Labhra police station jurisdiction, was found dead under suspicious circumstances on September 10. A case was registered on the basis of the statement of Saif Ali, the victim’s brother.
This was stated by SP (Investigation) Prabhjot Singh Virk while addressing news conference here today. He said after thorough probe by Deputy Police Captain (Investigation) Paraminder Singh, DSP Sheetal Singh Karn Singh, and Inspector Prabhjot Kaur, Station House Officer, Kapurthala Sadar police station, the police arrested three accused identified as Randeep Singh, alias Rama, a resident of Daburji; Akubali, a resident of Phulewal village; and Saif Ali, a resident of Ditti village.
During investigation, the police recovered a sharp iron weapon (datar) believed to have been used in the crime. All three accused are currently in police custody. Further interrogation of the suspects is in progress.
The police said if involvement of any other suspects comes to light during an investigation, appropriate legal action would be taken against them as per the law.
