Three held with 45-gm heroin

The Kartarpur police on Wednesday apprehended three persons with 45 gram of heroin here. The suspects are residents of villages falling under the Subhanpur police station.

The suspects have been identified as Satnam Singh, alias Satta (21), and mother-son duo Kishan Singh (21) and Paramjit Kaur (35). The three were nabbed at separate nakas at Kartarpur by the police. They have been booked under Sections 21, 61 and 85 of the NDPS Act.

During a naka at Kartarpur, a man with a polythene envelope in his hand was apprehended and on search, 15 gram of heroin was recovered from him.

Satnam Singh, alias Satta (21), a resident of Bootan under Subhanpur police station, Kapurthala, said he got the heroin from Kishan, a resident of Dogranwal, falling under Subhanpur police station in Kapurthala.

A case under Sections 21, 61 and 85 of the NDPS Act was registered at the Katarpur police station.

Kishan (22), a resident of Dogranwal village, was apprehended with 10 grams of heroin from a naka at the Naugajaa turn in Kartarpur. Kishan, a resident of Dogranwal (under Subhanpur police station), when questioned, told the police that drugs were being supplied to him by his mother Paramjit Kaur, alias Pammi, who was further getting them from a female contact at Latianwal village (under Subhanpur police station).

At another naka at the Bholath turn at Kartarpur, the police apprehended the third link in the same case Paramjit Kaur, alias Pammi, with 20 gram of heroin. In keeping with revelations made by her son Kishan, Pammi (also a resident of Dogranwal) told the police she was getting the heroin from a female contact at Latianwal.
