In a continued crackdown on drug trafficking, the Phagwara police have arrested three persons in two separate operations and recovered heroin, intoxicant powder, and an unregistered scooter.
SP Rupinder Kaur Bhatti said the police arrested two suspected drug smugglers identified as Prabhjot Singh, alias Sukha, a resident of village Atta near Goraya, and Satwinder Singh, a resident of village Mazari near Banga. Acting on a tip-off, the police intercepted the duo at a checkpoint and recovered 20 gram of intoxicant powder, 9 gram of heroin, and a scooter without a registration number.
Separate cases under relevant sections of the NDPS Act have been registered against the two accused.
In a separate incident, the Satnampura police arrested another suspect, Pardeep Kumar, a resident of Hadiabad, and seized 6 gram of heroin from his possession. He was also apprehended at a checkpoint.
