Three of family killed, 1 hurt in road mishap in Hoshiarpur

Three members of a family died, while another suffered serious injuries when the car they were travelling in collided with a tree on the Dasuya road here.
The deceased have been identified as Captain Roshan Lal, his wife Ved Kumari and their grandson Sahil.
Car rams into tree
The vehicle went out of control and collided with a tree on the roadside near Hariana. Captain Roshan Lal and his grandson Sahil died on the spot, while Ved Kumari and another grandson Yuvraj suffered serious injuries in the mishap.
Sahil, a soldier in the Indian Army, came on leave to attend his sister’s wedding. The mishap took place while he was going to his sister’s in-laws’ house in his four-wheeler with the bride’s car.

Sahil’s father Surinder Singh Katoch told the police that he was a resident of Saincha village falling under the Sadar police station, Hoshiarpur. After attending his daughter’s wedding, Sahil, along with his grandparents and cousin, was going to his sister’s in-laws’ house in his car around 6:30 am. When he reached near Hariana, a stray animal came in front of their vehicle all of a sudden. As a result, the car went out of control and collided with a tree on the roadside.
Surinder said his son Sahil and father Roshan Lal died on the spot, while his mother Ved Kumari succumbed to her injuries at the hospital.
His nephew Yuvraj Singh was referred to Jalandhar owing to his serious condition.
