Three villagers arrested for molestation
The Nakodar police have arrested three miscreants on the charge of outraging women's modesty.
Investigating Officer (IO) Amrik Lal said the accused had been identified as Gurpreet Kumar, alias Gopi, a resident of Bhodipur village, Iqbal Singh, alias Giani, a resident of Fajalwal village under Shahkot police station and Rajat, alias Babu, a resident of Kanganna village under Shahkot police station.
Arash Deep Singh, a resident of Leela Megh Singh village under Sidham Bet police station in Ludhiana, complained to the police that his sister and his fiancée came to Nakodar on December 5 to pay their obeisance in a dera.
The complainant said in the evening the accused molested his sister and his fiancée and used obscene comments and when he asked the accused to stop them, they assaulted him and smashed his phone on the road.
The IO said a case under Section 74 (assault or use of criminal force to a woman with intent to outrage her modesty),351(2) (criminal intimidation) 115(2)(voluntary causing hurt ) 191(3)(rioting ), 190(unlawful assembly ) and 324(4) (mischief) of the BNS has been registered against the accused.
