Hoshiarpur Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain has issued orders to curb road accidents in the Kandi area. The DC, vide her letter number 5586-90, dated April 17, has said that due to the alleged negligence of truck-tippers carrying mining material in Mukerian sub-division, road accidents were taking place every day. Therefore, to prevent the loss of human life and property, orders have been issued under Section 163

of the BNSS.

Under the order, during the movement of schoolchildren and school buses within Mukerian sub-division from 6 am to 9 am and from 1 pm to 4 pm, heavy vehicles carrying mining material, truck-tippers —- loaded and unloaded — will not be allowed to ply on village Ramgarh Sikri-Talwara-Hajipur Road via Dasuya, Hajipur to Mansar Road and Hajipur to Mukerian via Dasuya road.

Copies of this order have been sent to SDM, Mukerian, DSP, Dasuya and Mukerian, Executive Engineer Drainage-cum District Mining Officer, Hoshiarpur, to ensure compliance of the order and take appropriate action against people violating these orders.
