Traders urged to take maximum benefit of govt’s OTS scheme

Hoshiarpur, August 1
Chairman of the Punjab Traders Commission, Excise and Tax Department, Anil Thakur today held an important meeting at the District Administrative Complex. The main objective of this meeting was to make the District Grievance Redressal Committee, industry and various associations aware about the OTS scheme.
Chairman of the Backward Classes Land Development and Finance Corporation Sandeep Saini, Chairperson of District Planning Committee Karamjit Kaur and Assistant Commissioner, State Tax, Jatinder Kaur were also present.
During the meeting, Thakur gave detailed information to the traders on the benefits of OTS scheme and the process of its implementation. He appealed to the presidents and members of the group trade unions and representatives of industries to take maximum advantage of the OTS scheme launched by the state government. He motivated the traders to use this scheme in the right way, so that they could solve their problems easily.
On this occasion, he also heard the problems of the traders and tried to understand their concerns. The traders shared their problems, to which Thakur said these would be considered and efforts would be made to resolve them soon.
Thakur further said this meeting was organised to establish direct communication between traders and industrialists, so that they were made aware of the government schemes and policies, so that they manage to find solutions to their business problems.
Assistant Commissioner, State Tax, told the traders that the last date for the OTS scheme launched by the government was August 16. He also briefly told the trade associations and traders about the Mera Bill App Scheme.
Hoshiarpur district Beopar Mandal president Gopi Chand Kapoor raised the issue of trade licence and said the action being taken by the state government to give trade licences through municipal corporations should not be implemented.
