Travel office razed illegally, 20 booked

An office of AYM Travels, located opposite the bus stand near ICICI Bank on the GT Road, Phagwara, was illegally demolished by using a JCB machine. Marnkern Walia, resident of Dashmesh Nagar, Phagwara, and owner of the office, said it happened in the early hours of August 16, between 2:30 am and 3 am.

He claimed that the act was carried out deliberately by a group of individuals with whom he has been in dispute.

The accused named in the FIR include Bikramjit Handa, resident of Handa Complex, Phagwara; Mayank and Karan Prabhakar of Khalwara Gate, Phagwara; Ravinder Kumar and Ranjit Singh of Ahmedabad, Sarbjit Nagra of Jalandhar, and Svaash Suneha of Jalandhar, among 13 others. The police said investigation is underway to verify the circumstances of the incident, assess the extent of the damages, and determine the involvement of the named individuals. The authorities confirmed that further legal action will follow once evidence is examined and statements are recorded.
