Trials for the Punjab State Sub-Junior Boxing Championship were held at Boxing and Fitness Training Centre at Mohan Vihar near Ladhewali here yesterday.

The trials for the girls and boys teams were held by the Jalandhar Boxing Association under the presidentship of Kapil Mehta, general secretary Varinder Kumar, Inspector Khem Chand and coach Jasbir Singh.

The girls picked for the championship included an ‘A’ team, comprising Nandani Kumari in 33-35 kg category, Danika Sahota in 37-40 kg, Nikita Bharti in 40-43 kg, Damini in 43-46 kg, Trisha Vij in 52-55 kg, Charandeep in 55-58 kg and Hanshika in 61-64 kg categories. In ‘B’ category, Aarti Kumari was selected in 33-35 kg and Lavisha in 37-40 kg categories.

Among boys, Lucky got selected in 33-35 kg, Lovely Chauhan in 35-37 kg, Ramandeep in 37-40 kg, Tinku Kumar in 40-43 kg, Prince in 43-46 kg, Dhruv Garg in 52-55 kg, Mohit Verma in 58-61 kg, Akshit Kumar in 61-67 kg and Maninder Kumar in 71-plus kg categories. The ‘B’ team of boys included Manav Sahota in 33-35 kg, Harshdeep Singh in 35-37 kg and Rajveer Heer in 37-40 kg.
