Two days ago, a tragic collision occurred near village Bagwain on the Garhshankar-Chandigarh road, resulting in the death of a bus driver and a motorcyclist. A case has been registered against the truck driver involved in the accident.

According to the statement of Suchha Singh, the uncle of the deceased motorcyclist, Goldy, a resident of Jalwaha in Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, the two were on separate motorcycles travelling from Jalwaha to Garhshankar for some work. Suchha Singh said he was riding behind Goldy. He said when they reached near Sarpanch Haveli, a truck, travelling at high speed and recklessly, came from the opposite direction. The driver swerved onto the wrong side of the road and collided with Goldy’s motorcycle, crushing him under the truck. The truck then collided with a college bus, causing the bus to overturn and the truck also tipped over. Both Goldy and the bus driver died on the spot.

Suchha stated he saw the truck’s number and recognised the driver as Shiv Kumar, a resident of Ladori, Nurpur, Kangra in Himachal Pradesh. He said after the accident, the driver fled the scene with an unidentified person.
