A high-speed truck rammed into a stationary tipper loaded with gas cylinders, causing it to fall off the flyover. Fortunately, none of the 350 gas cylinders exploded, preventing what could have been a devastating tragedy.

The impact left the truck driver, tipper driver and a cleaner injured. Bystanders quickly alerted the highway control room. Assistant Sub-Inspector Jaswinder Singh of the Road Safety Force, along with his team, swiftly reached the spot and barricaded the area. The injured identified as truck driver Gurdayal Singh of Ludhiana, tipper driver Sahil of Pathankot and cleaner Rublepreet of Gurdaspur.

According to Sahil, he had stopped the vehicle to check the air pressure of tyres when the truck hit it from behind, causing the tipper to fall nearly 15 feet from the flyover along with the cylinders. Truck driver Gurdayal Singh claimed he lost control of the vehicle as a trailer suddenly appeared in front of him, leading to the collision.

The Goraya police arrived at the scene promptly. They contacted the owners of both vehicles and coordinated the removal of the wreckage from the highway.

While the vehicles were severely damaged, the absence of any cylinder explosion was considered a miraculous escape. The police have initiated an investigation and are working to determine the exact cause of the accident.
