Two arrested for attempt to commit culpable homicide

The Lohian Khas police yesterday arrested two persons on the charge of attempt to commit culpable homicide not amounting to murder. Investigating Officer (IO) Sawindar Singh said the accused had been identified as Lavindar Singh and Savindar Singh, both residents of Ghudu Wal village.

Sonu, a resident of Phul village, complained to the police that the accused were making noise in front of his house on July 15 and when he came out the accused attacked him and his brother-in-law Amarit Pal Singh with sharp weapons and injured them seriously and Amrit Pal was referred to a Jalandhar hospital. The IO said a case under Sections 308,323 and 427 of the IPC had been registered against the accused.
