Two arrested with 10 grams of heroin in Shahkot
Two people were arrested with 10 gm of heroin by teams of the Shahkot police here on Saturday. Onkar Singh Brar, DSP, Shahkot, said under directions of the Jalandhar SSP Harakmalpreet Singh Khakh in an ongoing drive against anti-social elements, two men were arrested by the Shahkot police on February 8.
He said on February 8, Sub-Inspector Lakhvir Singh, along with a police party, arrested the accused persons on dhussi bandh at Chak Bahmaniyan village while they were travelling on a Hero Splendour motorbike (bearing registration number PB08-BJ-9948). During search, the police seized drug from their possession.
The duo were identified as Prince, a resident of Kotla Suraj Mal, Shahkot, and Hardeep Singh, alias Raja, a resident of Kotla Suraj Mal, Shahkot, Jalandhar. A case was registered under Sections 2B, 61 and 85 of the NDPS Act by the Shahkot police against the two accused. The police said detailed investigation was being conducted to establish forward and backward links of the accused.
