Two firemen received severe burn injuries today when they had gone to douse the fire at a home at Babu Labh Singh Nagar in Jalandhar. The fire department received a call at 5.15 am that a house had caught fire.
Two firemen identified as Ramandeep Singh and Abhishek Gill reached the spot with two fire tenders. The moment they entered the home, the cylinder blast took place, leaving them injured.
They both were immediately taken to the hospital and new team of firemen doused the flame after that.
Jaswant Singh, Assistant Divisional Fire Officer, said the cause of the fire at the house was still unknown. "The family was not living in that house, but in a nearby house," he added.
The officer further said the two firemen were out of danger. MC Commissioner Gautam Jain also reached the hospital to see injured employees of the department.
