The Shahkot police had received information on early Monday that two criminals on bail are roaming in villages, supplying illicit weapons and drugs to their customers and are looking for a safe place.

At 6.15 AM, the police intercepted a motorcycle coming from the Bajwa Kalan village side near Shahkot railway station on which two youths with covered faces were travelling. The police signalled them to stop, but they tried to flee.

The police chased them, but the accused opened fire, intending to kill. The police fired in self-defence, which pierced their legs and they were arrested.
