An elderly man Ram Prasad Babu from Rahon, Nawanshahr, died after the cycle he was riding got hit by a vehicle. His son Abhishek Kumar, in his complaint to the police, said his father used to go to his office at 7 pm and he would return at 7am.

"Yesterday, he went to his work at 6.30 pm and at 6.40 pm, I received a call that someone had hit my father's cycle and fled the spot. I reached the spot and found my father lying in a pool of blood unconscious. He was referred to the PGI, Chandigarh, where he was declared brought dead," Kumar said.

He demanded strict action against the accused. A case under Section 106 (1) and 281 of the BNS Act was registered against the unidentified man.

In another case, a tipper hit a tractor trolley from behind, leading to the man sitting near on the tractor trolley falling on the road. As per information, the man died on the spot. The incident took place in Balachaur.
