The employees, who are already working on meager salaries, are facing huge financial hardship as they have not been receiving their salaries on time.

Senior leaders of Employees Union Punjab Sandeep Kaur and Gulshan Sharma said even after repeated meetings with Health Minister Dr Balbir Singh and high state-level officials, their problems are being ignored.

They said starting December 1, all National Health Mission employees would stage a protest by going on a pen-down strike that would continue till the pending salaries were released and a concrete strategy was made to release the salaries.

The leaders said the government should solve the problem effectively and ensure that salaries were released by the 5th of every month.
