One person was arrested and two stolen scooters were recovered from him by the Jalandhar rural police here today.
Harpreet, alias Happy, a resident of Kalyanpur village, at present residing at Mohalla Bagh Baharia, here, was arrested. He was riding a Honda Activa scooter (bearing registration no. PB08DD8731).
As per information provided by him, another Honda Activa (bearing registration no. PB08DK0794) and an auto- rickshaw battery were recovered from him. He was apprehended by the police at the T-point on Nakodar Road at Tajpur following a tip-off. After a tip-off that that he was planning to sell a stolen Activa, the police apprehended him while he was coming from the Lambra side. While he tried to turn away after seeing the police, the latter arrested him.

Harpreet (30) could also not furnish any documents for the scooter he was riding. On investigation, he revealed that the Activa had been stolen from Basti Sheikh by him. A case has been registered against him under Sections 379 and 411 of the IPC at the Lambra police station.
