The Jalandhar Rural Police have arrested a person on the charge of misconduct with a senior revenue official at the Naib Tehsildar office in Phillaur.

SSP HPS Khakh said following the directives to maintain law and order and protect government functionaries, a special team was constituted under the supervision of SP, Investigation, Jasroop Kaur Bath. The operation was executed by DSP Sarwan Singh Bal and SHO Phillaur Sanjeev Kapoor.

SSP Khakh said the police action was initiated following complaints from the Naib Tehsildar in Sub Divisional Magistrate of Phillaur. The complaints levelled serious allegations of disruption of official proceedings and misconduct at the Naib Tehsildar office.

A case under Sections 132, 221, 127(2), 351, 121(1), and 3(5) of the BNS has been registered against the accused at Phillaur police station.

Through investigation, we apprehended the primary accused Ramji Das of Ganna village on February 12," SSP Khakh stated.

The police have launched an intensive manhunt to apprehend co-accused Kuldeep Kumar of Panjdhera, who remains at large.

"We have adopted zero-tolerance policy towards any interference in government functioning or misconduct with public servants. We are committed to maintaining law and order in the district," SSP Khakh emphasised.
