Vovinam Martial Art Championship

Jalandhar: The 11th National Vovinam Martial Art Championship kicked off on the premises of CT Group of Institutions. This mega championship is being organised by Vovinam Association of India. In the opening ceremony, Vietnamese Master Nguyen Tan Nghia remained the Guest of Honour and conducted a seminar for all the national referees. More than 450 players and officials from 20 states namely Maharashtra, Assam, Chhattisgarh, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Delhi, Pondicherry, Meghalaya and Andhra Pradesh will be participating and competing with each other in this four-day championship. A demonstration of the match was also held during the opening ceremony.

Student selected for Asian Games

Pooja, a student of Bachelor in Physical Education, final year and player of volleyball team of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya has brought laurels to the institution. She has been selected for the Asian Games Championship, Asia Cup and camp of Asian Games to be held in Odisha. Principal Prof Ajay Sareen congratulated the student and said HMV has given so many national and international players to the country who had made us proud. On this occasion, Ramandeep and Navneet Dhadda were also present.

Farewell party organised

The pre-final year students of School of Management and IT of Lyallpur Khalsa College Technical Campus organised a farewell party “Yaadein-2022”. The day was fiesta devoted to the years spent together with friends and teachers to reminisce joyous moments. The event started with the lighting of lamp, after which Urvi Ratti student of MBA IV gave a presentation of their journey in the college and shared their Yaadein with the audience and thanked the authorities, faculty members and juniors for organising grand farewell party for them. Then the students of pre-final year presented welcome dance, garbha and bhangra to entertain the audience. Thereafter the students of final year won the heart of audience by presenting modelling on the ramp. Their colorful dresses and confidence overwhelmed the audience. Then a Fashion Show Fusion 2022 was presented by students of MBA II & MCA II in which they came attired in traditional and Western outfits.

Credit-Based System policy at KMV

Kanya Maha Vidyalaya has introduced new reforms in different programmes to fulfil the requirements of New Education Policy. Principal Prof Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that this system is an international system followed by a majority of global educational institutions worldwide and is also one of the major reform under new education policy of India. The credits obtained by students under this system will be stored in Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) and hence, students will be able to transfer their credits for their degree to any other institution. The system will be applicable to all MA, MSc, MCom programmes. Prof Dwivedi also eloquently explained about all the new age programmes including Honours programmes and various value added and skill based courses offered at undergraduate level for BA, BSc and BCom students only at KMV that are much to the benefit of the students.

GNDU results

The GNDU result of BSc Semester I of PCM SD College for Women have been outstanding. In Non-Medical stream, Ziya bagged first position in the college by scoring 354 (88.5%) out of 400 marks. Likewise, in the Computer Science stream, Sandesh Preeti grabbed first position in the college by getting 345 (86.2?) marks. The members of the Managing Committee and the Principal of the college Prof Dr Pooja Prashar applauded the students on their success and wished for their bright future.

Khelo india youth games

Atul Lohan (C) of Police DAV Public School, Jalandhar, after winning a bronze medal in Khelo India Youth Games.

Atul Lohan, a student of Class XII of Police DAV Public School has won the bronze medal in Khelo India Youth Games. He participated in the 71 kg weight category at Tau Devilal Stadium situated in Panchkula. It was a matter of great pride for the school. Principal Dr Rashmi Vij congratulated Atul and his coaches for the commendable achievement.
